During finals week, French 3 and French 3-4 did a simulation of a Shark Tank show - or rather, the Canadian version, "Dans l'œil du dragon". The students presented an idea or a product (fictionalized) to save the earth. They aimed to convince the Dragons to invest in their product. It was not so much about the science as it was about their presentational and language skills. Putting them in front of French speakers from the outside world gives students an opportunity to perform in a more authentic environment than just presenting to their teacher.
The students were graded on a written script which they did in groups, and on their ability to present clearly and to think on their feet when answering the questions of the "Dragons."
Ms Clashman would like to thank the "Dragons": TGS parents Steven Wright, Gautam Gowrisankaran and Xavier Ramus, as well as members of the Alliance Française de Tucson, Raymonde Zlotnikoff and Magali Bergolla.
I love working at The Gregory School because it is a place that inspires creativity in students and teachers alike.Amy Clashman
