The holiday season is a time for sharing and caring, and the students at The Gregory School are doing their part to make our community and world a better place!
Here are some of the ways that our generous and thoughtful students are giving back to others in need, so that they can have a meaningful holiday experience this winter.
Girl Up Penny Wars Fundraiser (November 28 - December 16)
The Middle School and Upper School are competing to see who can donate the most pennies towards the Girl Up Penny War, and the turnout has been extraordinary! The proceeds of this fundraiser are going to benefit a classroom of refugee girls in need of supplies for their school year. Both teams have already overfilled their first jar and have upgraded to a second, and this includes many sabotages of silver coinage and dollar bills in their opponent's containers which deduct from the final penny count.
Teddies For Tots Drive (Until December 14)
TGS students are asking for new stuffed animals to be donated for young children at Tucson Medical Center in need of some holiday cheer. There are collection boxes in Zeskind Hall, the student lounge, and Mrs. Encila’s room, and the toys are piling up! This is going to make a huge difference in the spirits of so many kids who are enduring unfortunate circumstances right now.
Holiday Service Project Bake Sale And Donations
The French Club, International Club, and the Middle Eastern Peace Alliance hosted a bake sale on Friday, December 9th during tutorial and lunch to raise donations for an immigrant family of 8 who need some essentials this winter. Gently used clothing is being collected at the front office and in the French Room (Room 16), as well as cash donations to go towards making this family’s holiday season a little happier.
