Duke University is pleased to offer “Demystifying the College Admission Process”, a 60-minute seminar for area high school students and their parents
Demystifying the College Admission Process will provide information about what families should know now as they begin to consider highly selective colleges as an option. Highly selective colleges and universities have many applicants, low admission rates and use a holistic approach when making admission decisions.
Steve McLaughlin, Associate Dean of Undergraduate Admissions will address the topics of admissions trends, what highly selective schools look for, how decisions are made, and how to best prepare at this stage of your high school career. Mr. McLaughlin has been with Duke University for 18 years and is the Admissions Officer from Duke who works with students from Arizona.
This seminar will not focus on admission to Duke or any other specific college. Students interested in learning more about admission to Duke are encouraged to attend a program in your area or arrange a visit to campus at the Duke Admissions website.
